There are many ways to get involved in nature conservation as a volunteer in the Nene Valley. Please see the list below for some ideas:

Northamptonshire County Council has a range of events on Country Parks around the county; see their events page.

Pocket Parks around Northamptonshire are managed by groups of volunteers. To find out about your local Pocket Park please see the website.

The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire has a range of volunteering opportunities, to find out about them please visit the website. If you are specifically interested in taking park in practical work parties, you can find out more here.

The Rockingham Forest Trust involves volunteers in several areas of it’s work, as you can see here. If you would like to volunteer at Stanwick Lakes, the opportunities are on this website.

Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) works with volunteers in the Peterborough area, see here.

The Rivercare groups help to look after the waterways, including sections of the River Nene. You can find out more from the Keep Britain Tidy website.

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) have a range of opportunities, and the map on their website shows local community groups you can get involved with as well (make sure to select this option when searching the map).
